On September 1, 2021, ground-breaking ceremony of Highly Marelli Wuhu Plant was held in the Wuhu Economic and Technological Development Zone. The new plant will produce HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning) units and heat exchangers, which are the core components of the thermal management system in new energy vehicles.

Highly Marelli Wuhu Plant is one of the key projects in China initiated by Highly Marelli Holdings Co., Limited. Signed off on April 30, 2021, and with the initial investment of about 300 million yuan, the project aims to build a 150-mu (100,000-square-meter) plant for the production of HVAC units and heat exchangers in the east of Wuhu Economic and Technological Development Zone. The new plant will have an annual production capacity of 800,000 units of HVAC units, and 7 million units of heat exchangers. A testing and trial production center will be set up inside the zone to meet the needs of new models development from new energy vehicle customers.

In the speech delivered at the ground-breaking ceremony, Zheng Jiandong, Chairman of Highly Marelli, appreciated strong support given by the Wuhu Economic and Technological Development Zone, and established expectations for the project in line with market outlook for new energy HVAC. Zhang Dong, Director of Management Committee of Wuhu Economic and Technological Development Zone, congratulated Highly Marelli on the launch of Wuhu project. Both sides look forward to making Highly Marelli Wuhu Plant a great success, which boosts Highly Marelli’s components business for new energy vehicles and revitalizes the local new energy vehicle industry in Wuhu.
